VMware: VSA WSCLI.jar

Posted by bartvdw on 0202/0808/2012

The WSCLI.jar is pretty cool for your VMware VSA cluster. If you’re using VMware VSA cluster, you must check this out! The links at the bottom contain lots of examples of the usage, be sure you check them as well.

If you need to point to the correct Java executable, use this path: "C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\jre\bin\java.exe"

Location WSCLI.jar file: C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\VSA Manager\tools

Examples:

-jar WSCLI.jar <VSA cluster IP> getStorageCluster –> this will generate detailed information from your VSA cluster, you can check the replication status etc.

-jar WSCLI.jar  <VSA VM’s Management IP> exitMaintenanceMode –> exit maintenance mode for the VSA node specified

-jar WSCLI.jar <VSA VM’s Management IP> getSvaServerInfo –> get detailed information for the VSA node specified

-jar WSCLI.jar <Cluster IP> exitStorageClusterMaintenanceMode –> exit cluster maintenance mode

After taking a VSA cluster or node out of maintenance mode, the status is unknown or the VSA Manager interface is no longer available
